This standard includes numerous categories of austenitic stainless steel, distinguished by a descriptor prefix, like UNS (Unified Numbering System) or TP, and ending with “L”. Heat analyses are conducted to ensure the components conform to the requisite composition of carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, nitrogen, and copper.
