06Cr19Ni10) 304 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel. It is a steel developed on the basis of the 18-8 austenitic stainless steel originally invented. It can not be strengthened by heat treatment, and can only be strengthened by cold deformation. The austenitic structure of steel endows it with good cold and hot workability, non magnetism and good low temperature properties. The thin section size weldment of 304 stainless steel has sufficient intergranular corrosion resistance, excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing acid, and better corrosion resistance in alkali banyan solution, most organic and inorganic acids, atmosphere and water vapor.
The good performance of (06Cr19Ni10) 304 stainless steel makes it the most widely used stainless steel brand with the largest application amount. This steel is suitable for manufacturing deep drawn parts and pipes, containers, structural parts, etc. for transporting corrosive media. 304 stainless steel can also be used for manufacturing nonmagnetic low temperature equipment and components.

4.Process performance
Both (06Cr17Ni12Mo2) 316 stainless steel and (022Cr17Ni12Mo2) 316L stainless steel have good cold and hot working properties. The steel has good thermoplasticity and low overheating sensitivity. The appropriate hot working temperature is 900~1200 ℃. Due to the high molybdenum content in the steel, its deformation resistance is significantly higher than that of 0Cr18Ni9 and 00Cr18Ni9 stainless steels.
The cold workability of the two steels is good, which can be used for cold rolling, cold drawing, deep drawing, bending, curling, cold processing and cold forming of folding stools.
The solution treatment temperature of the two brands is 1050~1100 ℃, and the cooling methods are water cooling and air cooling, which shall be determined according to the section size of the product. The structure of steel in solution state is austenite.
The two steels have good weldability. (06Cr17Ni12Mo2) 316 stainless steel manual welding electrode shall be austenitic 202, austenitic 201 or E316-15 (American brand). In order to maintain good intergranular corrosion resistance, solution treatment shall be carried out after welding. If heat treatment is not allowed, 022Cr17Ni12Mo2 shall be used. 316L stainless steel manual electrode is Ao022, which can be welded without heat treatment and still has good resistance to intergranular corrosion.
Product performance
Due to the good combination of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of (022Cr17Ni12Mo2) 316L stainless steel, it is widely used in chemical processing industry, such as manufacturing synthetic fiber, petrochemical industry, textile, fertilizer, printing and dyeing and atomic energy industrial equipment, such as tower, tank, vessel and pipeline, heat exchanger, etc. It is suitable for manufacturing welding parts and equipment with large section size.
